"Swing Kings", Saturday, Feb. 9th, 2008, Eugene Ballet Company, www.eugeneballet.org

You're gonna flip your lid over the babies and gators cutting a rug at this gig Daddy-0! The Eugene Ballet Company dancers groove, jitterbug and Lindy Hop along to the swinging beats of the Big Band era. This modern tribute to the dance styles of the 1930's and 1940's is high energy and lots of fun for audiences of all ages. But that's only the second half! The First act from the Eugene Ballet Company is more traditional with classical ballet and modern dance. Under the Artistic Direction of Toni Pimble, this 20-member ensemble performs a blend of classical and contemporary works, along with educational programs seen by an audience of 75,000+ in travels covering an average of 25,000 road miles annually. EBC is one of only two northwest companies on the roster of the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF) touring program which has, for the past six years, been funded by the National Endowment for the Arts Dance Company Program. So all you hipsters out there, put on your dancin' shoes and zoot suits, and get ready to jump, jive and wail with the Eugene Ballet Company!
