Remember when you didn't know who Stevie Ray Vaughn was, well remember now when you don't know who Carlos del Junco is. If you call yourself a fan of the blues you will need to see and hear Carlos. Playing a ten hole diatonic harmonica, Carlos has developed the unique ability to play chromatically by using a recently developed "overblow" technique taught to him by jazz virtuoso Howard Levy. The sophisticated sound produced by del Junco is at once sensitive and soulful while never forgetting the rawness inherent in blues music. This is a world class act with a world class back-up band. If you missed Carlos at Masquers Theater in Soap Lake two years ago you had better not miss him now. Carlos has won the Canadian Maple Blues Award seven times out of it's ten year history, has been nominated for a Juno (Canada's Grammy), has been named Blues Musician of the Year by Jazz Report Magazine and won two gold Medals in the Hohner World Harmonica Championship in Trossingen Germany. Carlos has toured Canada and the United States and has played all the major jazz, blues and folk festivals in both countries. If you are a musician or want to be one or just appreciate great ones... Don't miss Carlos. This is the current state of the Blues.
